Naggar is situated on the left bank of the river beas. At an altitude of 1800 meters. Naggar is an ancient town in Kullu District and was once the capital of Kullu Kingdom for about 1400 years, a place at present well known for the historical Naggar Castle and International Roerich Museum . Naggar is a place situated between Manali and Kullu surrounded by the Himalayan mountains and forests. Due to its ideal position, Naggar is suitable place to spend few days away from the crowd in the lap of the nature. All the touristic places are easily approachable from here. Naggar is so peaceful that one can hear the ear pleasing sound of birds chirping around and the silent breezing winds. Alliance is surrounded by huge deodar and pine trees and is positioned only at a distance of 500 meters away from the Roerich place and approximately 500 meters away from Naggar Castle.

Roerich Art Gallery:

( Visit time 2 hours ) Roerich Art Gallery is a wide complex which contains Roerich House, exhibition hall, painting gallery with a collection of popular paintings and cultural museum etc. 

The beauty of the place with all  positive vibes tell the story itself why a philosopher, traveler,  artist and an explorer like Nicholas Roerich chose to settle down in Naggar in the early 20th  century

Naggar Castle:

( Visit time 1 hour ) Heritage building of Naggar, the official seat of kings for centuries. was built by Raja Sidh Singh . Castle is positioning in such a wonderful place that we get a panoramic view of the valley from there. The Naggar Castle is now converted in a Tourism Hotel but still open for the visitors. People can witness the beautiful wooden carving done on the entire structure. It also has a small museum which is also open for visitors between 10 am to 6 pm.

Walk to Krishna Temple:

( 2 hours can be done any time during the day in the daylight ) Krishna temple walk is one of the easiest and lovely walk through woods which can be done alone safely.

The walk can be done without a guide with some guidance and small map showing the directions.

Walk to Rumsu Village:

4 hours walk best to do in the morning ( 9 am to 1 pm ) to avoid heat and sun while walking up . This walk is extremely pleasing … In this village you can witness some houses built 150/200 years ago with stones and big wooden logs, ground floor with the cows, sheeps and even horses and upper floor for family.

The village is worth visiting.

Nashala Village / Janna Fall:

(4 hours ) Walk to Nashala can be done alone with some direction map or with a guide … Janna is the next village after Nashala. This spot has recently been highlighted as a famous tourist attraction. The drive to Janna is amazing and enjoyable.

Fall is not too big but its wonderful to walk around in the forest . Few restaurant serve spicy authentic local food there.

Chanderkhani:

( full day altitude 3660 m) The beautiful amazing walk with high difficulty level is doable in a full day. This hike is only advised with a local guide. The pass has a lot of religious importance as it was once the seat of meditation for the Saptarishi Jamadagni. According the the local belief it is said that once a local deity named Jamlu of Malana, had in his hand a basket of the local gods, once he was on the top of the pass, he opened the basket and incidentally a strong wind came by and blew away all the idols to the nearby peaks, which is why all the nearby mountain peaks of Indrasan, Deo Tibba, Pir Panjal Range & Parbati Range are considered holy and can be seen very clearly from the pass. Chanderkhani forms a way to the well known village called Malana.

Solang Valley, Hadimba Temple and Manali ( Full day ):

Altitude Solang Nala 2560 meters altitude Manali 2050 meter – Starting around 9 and direct drive to beautiful Solang Nala. After spending may be an hour there back to Manali and discovering the beautiful old wooden temple of Hadimba between hundreds of the old tall trees is worth visiting. There is a forest park which is accessible for tourists. On the left side few meters away from the temple, there is a museum which connects the visitors to Kullu Valley and the lifestyle of Kullu people 100 years back. After that drive back to Manali, having lunch, shopping/souvenirs and there is also a possible visit to a nice Buddhist monastery. Back to Naggar by Evening.

Manikaran ( full day ):

Altitude 1760 meters . 2.5 hours one side drive from Naggar. Manikaran is located in the Parvati Valley on river Parvati, northeast of Bhuntar in the Kullu District, 4 km ahead of Kasol .

This small town attracts tourists visiting Manali and Kullu to its hot springs. Manikaran is a pilgrimage centre for Hindus and Sikhs. It has many temples and a gurudwara.

Prashar Lake ( full day ):

Altitude 2730 m, 3 hours one sided drive from Naggar The lake is held sacred to the sage Prashar and he is regarded to have meditated there. There is a round, floating island inside the lake.

It is said to be unclear how deep it is, with a diver not being able to determine its depth. There is a three storied pagoda-like temple dedicated to the sage Prashar which is said to be built in the thirteenth century .
